OTIS I aka Ras Malkam

Ras Malkam, known to many as Otis I, was born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and now resides in Brampton, Ontario. From an early age, he developed a deep love and appreciation for music. Growing up on dancehall cassettes and the works of cultural icons such as Brigadier Jerry, Charlie Chaplin, Early B (The Doctor), and his all-time favorite, Garnett Silk, he was naturally inspired to create.

This passion led him to begin writing his own songs, eventually emerging as Ras Otis I. His debut single, “Supposed to Do,” released in the early to mid-2000s, marked his introduction to the cultural reggae scene in Toronto, where he quickly gained recognition.

As time went on, his catalog continued to grow—but the man behind the music found himself drawn toward deeper spiritual development. Ras Otis, I stepped away from his rising career to pursue greater knowledge of righteousness, focusing intensely on meditation and inner alignment.

Now reborn as Ras Malkam, he returns with a renewed mind, body, and soul—committed to creating music that uplifts, empowers, and liberates humanity. His mission is clear: to use his voice as a vessel for truth, consciousness, and positive transformation.
