Seymour Roache, professionally known as Preemour, is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist proudly representing the parish of Saint Thomas. Born in Salt Lane, Morant Bay (Church Corner), and raised at 3 Crooks Lane, Stanton Road, Preemour’s early life was deeply rooted in family, faith, and culture. He was raised by his great-grandmother and spent much of his childhood attending church with his grandmother, Miss Maude, where his love for music first took shape.
From a very young age, Preemour discovered his voice through church services, concerts, and community rallies. Music quickly became his natural expression. After spending some time away from his hometown, he later returned to Church Corner, Summit Road, where a pivotal influence entered his life—Mikey “Power”, a local man with a stereo system he plays sound system cassette like Black Star, Stereophonic, Black Scorpio, King Jammy’s and many more. This exposure cemented Preemour’s passion for reggae and dancehall culture.
Musically inspired by icons such as Tiger, General Trees, Peter Metro, Josey Wales, Super Cat, Charlie Chaplin, Brigadier Jerry, Earl Cunningham, Broke Back, Malvo, and others, Preemour developed a deep respect for lyrical strength and authentic storytelling. Alongside his close friend Duppy Doc, now known as Kulcha Doc, he would travel by bus into town, visiting legendary studios including King Jammy’s, Arrow Records, and other renowned recording spaces. Although access to studio time was often out of reach, the experience fueled his determination and sharpened his vision.
Life responsibilities eventually took priority as Preemour focused on raising his family, stepping back from recording but never from music. Throughout that period, he continued writing, refining his craft, and staying connected to his purpose.
In 2019, the true rebirth of Preemour began. Recommitted to his artistry, he returned to recording and released his debut EP, Hold You, with most tracks recorded at Bashment Studio in Belleville, The project marked his official re-entry into the music scene and reaffirmed music as an inseparable part of his identity.
Now entering a powerful new chapter, Preemour’s 2025 album, Third Eye, is available on all major streaming platforms, showcasing growth, awareness, and spiritual depth. With a sound rooted in tradition yet driven by experience, Preemour continues to represent resilience, culture, and conscious music—proving that true artistry never fades, it only evolves.
